Christchurch or Ami Stadium

Ami Stadium or Christchurch Stadium as it is being called for the Rugby World Cup is the premier stadium in the South Island of New Zealand and home to the Crusaders Rugby franchise. The stadium also hosts international rugby and cricket match's every year.

The stadium will have completed a redevelopment in time for 2011 and the redeveloped stadium will seat 38,608 fans, 2000 more than the previous capacity. The design also enables multiple temporary seating options to extend capacity to 45,000. Future uses of the stadium will also see it hosting games in the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

Christchurch was badly damaged during the earthquakes and all games had to be moved to other stadiums.
