The French Women put up stiff resistance for a while but the Black Ferns were much to strong for them running away to 45-7.
It took 9 minutes for New Zealand to breakdown the French defence and it was

Carla Hohepa
(player of the match) who stepped around three players on her way to the line. Kelly Brazier was unable to add the extras 5-0. France had their moments following this score and got into the Ferns 22 twice but stout defence kept them out. The Black Ferns were now starting to dominate all areas and on 22 minutes Victoria Grant scored their 2nd try, followed on 26 minutes by Huriana Manuel. Brazier now got her kicking boots working and added the extras 17-0. On 34 minutes Renee Wickliffe went over followed on 36 minutes by Hohepa getting her second. Both these being converted by Brazier 31-0. France had continued to work and right on half-time got their reward as number 2 Laetitia Salles went over following a good driven maul. Aurelie Bailon slotted the difficult kick to give us the half-time score of: 31-7.
The second period and the Black Ferns were soon on the score sheet as the mercurial 10 Anna Richards finished a slick handling move with Brazier slotting her last kick before being substituted. The game was now tacking its course and France were keeping the Ferns at bay, until on 65 minutes the referee yellow carded their 15 and Joan Sione went over with Emma Jensen slotting the extras to give us the final score of:
