England Women power to final – England Women 15-0 Australia Women

England Women meet New Zealand in the World Cup final on Sunday evening after beating Australia 15-0 at The Stoop in the semi-final.

England were on the board in the sixth minute thanks to skipper Catherine Spencer crashing over from a 5 metre scrum, with Katy McLean converting 7-0. They went further ahead with Danielle Waterman on the end of good threes play scoring a try in the 21st minute, this went unconverted and although England had the bulk of possession and pressure stout defence by the Wallaroos and unforced errors from England meant this remained at 12-0 till half-time.

Australia staged a second-half fight back, but powerful defence from England kept them out, preventing them from scoring a single point, even when England went down to 14 with 12 minutes to play when Heather Fisher got yellow carded. It did not go so well for Australia as Ruan Sims who had been on the pitch for less than one minutes got carded and McLean slotted the resulting penalty to give us the final score of:

England 15-0 Australia
