Lyon's Stade Gerland

Stade Gerland is a 43,000 seater stadium located at the south side of Lyon. It was built in 1926 with renovation in 1984 and 1998 for the European Nations Cup and then World Cup. It is the home of the local football side Olympique Lyonnais who have been very successful in the French leagues and Europe.

Lyon the third largest city in France is also well known as being on the route to the South of France and also to the Alps. With the wine region of Beaujolais on the doorstep it is another of the venues for the Rugby World Cup where fans will have the opportunity to take trips out for wine tasting.

Stade Gerland has three pool games in September the first on the 8th features Australia, the second is on the 11th and the last on the 15th features New Zealand.
