The Hong Kong national side completed their first ever European tour with a 25-10 loss against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Saturday, and dropped to their worst ever position of 39th in the IRB World Rankings.

Hong Kong
Hong Kong had already suffered defeats at the hands of Germany and the Czech Republic on a trip that saw them meet three seasoned international sides.
Two years ago, in December 2007, the Hong Kong side better known for their flair in the Sevens game was ranked 27th in the world.

However, following a number of tight losses in 2009, both in the HSBC Asian Five Nations and on this historic first European tour, the country faces a job of climbing the world list in 2010.
The Dutch were always likely to provide a stern test. Currently unbeaten in the European Nations Cup Division 2B, this latest victory consolidates their position at 34th with a 0.5 rating point rise.
