Ireland Argentina Odds
Ireland play Argentina on the 30th Sep in pool ‘D’ of Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2007, in the Parc De Princes Stadium in Paris. This is the last of the pool games and this will be the first meeting between the two at this stage although Argentina did beat Ireland 28-24 in the 1999 quarter finals.

Ireland who have been on top form will need to be at their best to ensure they beat Argentina. The Pumas have become a real force in World Rugby and although we see this as a win for Ireland it will be very tight. Ireland to win by 10 points or less and the match to be a hard fought encounter. The difference will be the form of the Irish backs who will secure the narrow win.

I think Ireland, despite of being the favorite team to win this game, hasn’t shown to be at the top of their capabilities, judging by their performance at the RWC 2007 until now. On the other side, Argentina seems to be in great shape an they are perfectly aware that this will be “the” match to win. They need to hold the Irish pressure as long as they can, since time is on their side. I see most other Six Nations’ national teams have somewhat disappointed their fans, would be Ireland the exception? Sorry, but even if the Irish win, I don’t think they can make it any further than that. I think the Cup goes to the Southern Hemisphere this time.

Yes I think you are correct the Cup will go to New Zealand or South Africa. Argentina have a good chance of progressing and can beat Ireland!

I’m sure Ireland will probably give the battle of their lives. Under these circumstances, Scotland seems to be a more accessible rival. One thing’s for sure, it will be one of the most exciting games in the world cup. Argentina should be happy to remain first at pool D, even if losing against Ireland by less than 4 tries.
