New Plymouth New Zealand is located on the North Islands west coast in the Taranaki district of New Zealand. New Plymouth offers something for everyone, sun, sea, sand and snow. some of the best surfing in the country, a marine park conservation area, Mount Taranaki and the Egmont National Park, a mecca for trampers and climbers. It is also noted for being a coastal city with a mountain within 30 minutes drive, where residents and visitors to New Plymouth can snowboard, ski, water ski and surf all in the same day.
New Plymouth is one of New Zealands sunniest cities. It was founded where several Maori iwi (tribes) had lived for centuries. Early European whalers operated in the area for some time before the ship William Bryant arrived in 1840, bringing the first of the European settlers, it is named after Plymouth, Devon, England, where the settlers came from. Today, New Plymouth serves a region that is mostly engaged in dairy farming and the production of oil, gas and petrochemicals. The Maui gas field, approximately 25 kilometres offshore, is one of the biggest gas fields in the world.
New Plymouth will host 3 pool games on 11, 15 and 26 September one from pool A featuring Ireland, one from pool B and one from pool D featuring Wales. These game will be in the Yarrow Stadium, Maratahu Street, Westown, New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand.
