Northland Events Centre, Whangarei

Northland Events Centre, formerly Okara Park is a multi-use stadium in Whangarei, New Zealand. It is currently used mostly for rugby union matches and is the home stadium of Northland Rugby Union. The stadium is able to hold 25,000 people and was built in 1965, though redeveloped recently. The stadium will host 2 pool games in the 2011 Rugby World Cup and they are 14 Sept Tonga v Canada and 21 Sept Tonga v Japan. The stadium will be the northern most hosting stadium for the World Cup.

Foot

The stadium is close to the centre of town, just follow the signs.

Car

From Auckland take route 1 and turn right onto Rewa Rewa Road before your reach Raumanga. The road then becomes Kioreroa Road and at the T junction end of the road turn left into Okara Drive.

Train

Whangarei station is within walking distance of the stadium, or a short taxi journey, if walking just follow the signs to the stadium.
