Peter De Villiers to coach the Springboks
Peter De Villiers announced as the new South Africa Coach. Although many had expected Heyneke Meyer to succeed Jake White, Peter De Villiers ticked all the right boxes to suit the South African Rugby Union, he is the first black person to coach the national team, although he has followed the same path as White. He was the coach to the U21’s World Champions of 2005. The initial contract is for 2 years, so we have yet to see if he will still be in place for the RWC in 2011. Though all the signs are that he should be.
