Rotorua

Rotorua is one of the jewels in the crown that is New Zealand. It is steeped in local culture and history allowing visitors to get close to nature of the people and land. The city is on the edge of Lake Rotorua in the Bay of Plenty region of the North Island of New Zealand. The full Maori name is Te Rotorua-nui-a-Kahumatamomoe.

Rotorua is like no other place; its spirit is expressed by the stunning landscape; its raw beauty has enchanted visitors from around the world for more than 160 years. Stand on active volcanoes, peer into massive craters, see boiling mud, erupting geysers, and enjoy unspoiled native forests that cloak the land. Throughout this vista are 14 scenic lakes brimming with trout. Lake Rotorua is the largest lake in the district, with Mokoia Island in its centre. There are a few walking tracks on the island, which is rich in native bird life. Dip in the warm mineral waters of Hinemoas Pool; windsurfing, kayaking and trout fishing are favoured pastimes on the lake. Rotorua is the tribal home of the Te Arawa people, who first established villages in the geothermal areas of the city more than 600 years ago. A tradition of guiding visitors around the attractions has been passed from one generation to the next. Cultural experiences, such as marae stays and an authentic pre-European Maori village, are designed to be both entertaining and cultural.

Rotorua International Stadium is the venue for three matchs on the 10,14 and 25 September featuring Fiji and Samoa in pool D and Ireland in pool C. The stadium address is; Rotorua International Stadium, Devon Street West, Rotorua, New Zealand 3010.
