Frank Hadden has opted for 17 forwards and 13 backs in his 30 man squad. Uncapped Glasgow flanker John Barclay has been included in the squad, but fly-half Gordon Ross and winger Simon Danielli are among those to miss out. Injuries to Scott Lawson and Chris Cusiter have prompted the choice of three hookers and three scrum-halves.
Twenty of the group will be experiencing World Cup rugby for the first time, while Scott Murray and Chris Paterson will get a third taste of the event.

Scotland are in pool C with New Zealand, Italy, Romania and Portugal and play Portugal on the 9th September in Saint Etienne.
