South Africa Winners RWC 2007

South Africa Won their second Rugby World Cup in France 2007. Beating England in the final in a dour contest by 15-6. This followed their demolition of the side in Pool 'A' 36-0 and meant England exceeded expectations in reaching the final.

Springboks To Head Pool 'D'

The Springboks win in France 2007 guaranteed qualification for the finals in New Zealand. IRB ranked 2nd though they have been number 1 for quite some time the Springboks followed up their World Cup win with an exciting if close win in the series against the British & Irish Lions but as a tired squad fell short in the autumn of 2009 during their tour or Europe. they are grouped in Pool D with Wales, Fiji, Samoa and Namibia. They without doubt are the strongest team in the pool and we anticipate they will be easy winners of pool 'D'.

South African Players To Watch

South Africa have a wealth of new talent coming through, but some of the old hands will probably make the difference, the likes of: Victor Matfield, Morné Steyn, Jean de Villiers, Ruan Pienaar and new boys such as Heinrich Brussow, Tendai Mtawarira and Chiliboy Ralepelle. Whatever we expect South Africa to be one of the favourites to be looking to hoist the cup for a third time and be the first to win it back to back.
