Trafalgar Park, Nelson

Trafalgar Park is a 16,000 capacity stadium in the heart of Nelson a town on the northern part of the South Island of New Zealand, this makes it the most northerly venue in the South Island and it will host 3 pool games, these are on 20 September Italy v Russia, 27 September Italy v USA and 1 Oct Australia v Russia. The stadium is also one of the homes of Air New Zealand Cup team Tasman.

Tasman is an area which is very popular for tourists with stunning national parks and events such as Rainbow Rage, a 106km mountain bike adventure ride through some of the South Island's spectacular sub alpine country, the Antique and Classic Boat Show held on Lake Rotoiti in Nelson Lakes National Park, or if running through one of the most well known national parks in New Zealand is your thing, go for it at the Abel Tasman Coastal Classic in the Abel Tasman National Park.

Highway 6 passes by the end of Trafalgar Street and apart for signs to the city centre, the other local landmark is Port Nelson.

Nelson Airport is to the south of the town and is at 1 Trent Drive, Nelson 7001. This puts it 8.3km from the stadium and about 15 mins. There are both taxi and shuttle services into Nelson.
