U19s Tournament Fiji 9 Tonga 8

Fiji scraped a narrow victory against Tonga in the Oceania U19s Tournament in Apia Samoa on Saturday.

Noa Nakaitaci opened the scoring for Fiji on 17 minutes with a penalty, with Tonag answering on 28 minutes with a drop goal by Patrick Makaafi, Fiji then retook the lead with a second penalty to Nakaitaci and this was the score at half time 6-3.

Tonga struck first in the second half when on 45 minutes Amanaki Lotoahea went over for a try, but Makaafi was unable to post the conversion so Tonga held a narrow lead 8-6. Fiji held their patience and on 61 minutes got their reward as Nakaitaci kicked his third penalty to make the score 9-8 to Fiji. This remained the score to the end of the game. So final score:
