The 2011 Rugby World Cup is being hosted by New Zealand and the venues are, Stadium Christchurch and Wellington Regional Stadium will each host two quarter-finals with the Final, Bronze Final and both semi-finals to be played at Eden Park in Auckland.
The Tournament will kick off at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday September 9, 2011 when New Zealand will play Tonga.
Auckland (Eden Park), Wellington and Christchurch have been allocated five pool matches each while North Shore, Hamilton, New Plymouth, Rotorua and Dunedin will each host three matches. Whangarei, Nelson, Palmerston North, Napier and Invercargill will host two matches.
The northern most venue will be Northland Events Centre, Whangarei, with next going south North Harbour Stadium in Albany, North Shore, North Shore City, Auckland, with Eden Park Stadium in Eden Park Auckland hosting the final, being very near and Rugby Park furthest south in Invercargill on the South Island. The other venues are predominantly in the North Island, they are: Waikato Stadium, Hamilton, Rotorua International Stadium, Rotorua, Trafalgar Park, Nelson, Yarrow Stadium, New Plymouth, Taranaki, McLean Park, Napier , Manawatu Arena, Palmerston North and the last on the North Island and in the capitol Westpac Stadium, Wellington . The last two are both in the South Island in stunning cities Ami Stadium, Christchurch and last but by no means least: Carisbrook Stadium, in Dunedin.
